The Work

Make the business easier to market.

Find what’s making everything else harder. Fix that.

01

Four ways a business gets easier.

I look in four places. We fix the one creating the most drag.

Every engagement starts with the Read.

The Read

$1K · One week

Find the thing worth fixing first.

Two conversations. One written point of view: what’s in the way, what comes first, and what it will take.

It’s yours either way.

Then I tell you how big the job is.

Two weeks

Intensive

$20K

One problem. Finished.

Positioning. A sales story. A rebrand. A website. A campaign.

The Read decides what the work is.

Most of the creative work happens before we meet. The two sessions are for decisions, feedback and finishing.

You walk away with the thing, not the plan.

Project

From$40K

When one fix depends on another.

Two or three intensives, staged in the order the business needs them.

Each one finishes something useful before the next begins.

Scope and price are set after the Read.

Three-month minimum

Advisory

$5K/month

Your team makes it. I keep it pointed in the right direction.

Usually after a build.

Two working sessions a month, review of major work, and a regular read on the numbers that matter.

When something needs building, that becomes an Intensive.

Who does the work

Mostly me. If the job needs a specialist, I bring one in and stay accountable for the work.

If you already have a team, agency or freelancers, I can work with them.

03

More of the right business. Less of leadership in every deal.

  • The right buyers arrive better informed.
  • Deals need less explaining.
  • The company makes its own case.
  • You know what marketing is returning.
  • And the business becomes less dependent on you.
04

Fair Questions.

Why can’t I just hire you for the thing I think I need?

Sometimes you can.

But the thing you’re asking for and the thing making the business harder aren’t always the same thing.

A website problem might actually be a positioning problem. A lead problem might be a story problem. A conversion problem might start much earlier than the proposal.

The Read is there to make sure we spend the real money on the right thing.

Why two weeks?

Because I do most of the work before we get in the room.

The sessions aren’t where I disappear with a blank page and ask everyone what they think. They’re for decisions, pressure-testing, edits and finishing.

That keeps the work moving without turning it into a six-month process.

What if it needs longer?

Then it’s a Project.

Some problems are one thing. Some are a sequence of things that only work in the right order.

We figure that out in the Read, before the bigger commitment starts.

Why paid up front?

Because I clear the space and hold the two weeks for the work.

It also keeps the engagement simple. No timesheets. No monthly burn. No wondering whether another round of edits just added five grand.

The price is the price.

What if the scope changes?

Then we talk about it before the work changes.

Sometimes the Read uncovers more than expected. Sometimes the work itself reveals something new.

That’s normal. Quietly letting the scope grow and sending a surprise invoice later isn’t.

Can I start with Advisory?

Usually not.

Advisory works best when there’s already something solid to advise against: a strategy, a system, a body of work, a team trying to run it.

If we haven’t worked together before, the Read is usually the better place to start.

Do you work with our existing team or agency?

Yes.

I’m not interested in replacing good people just to make the engagement bigger.

If you already have designers, developers, marketers, an agency or an internal team, I can give them the strategy and direction they need to do better work.

Who actually does the work?

Mostly me.

When the job needs a specialist, I bring in someone I trust and stay responsible for the outcome.

You’re not buying my thinking and getting handed off to a junior team.

Who owns the work?

You do.

The strategy, copy, systems, files, documentation and finished assets are yours.

No license. No dependency built in. No reason to keep paying me just to keep using something you already paid for.
