Fair Questions.
Why can’t I just hire you for the thing I think I need?
Sometimes you can.
But the thing you’re asking for and the thing making the business harder aren’t always the same thing.
A website problem might actually be a positioning problem. A lead problem might be a story problem. A conversion problem might start much earlier than the proposal.
The Read is there to make sure we spend the real money on the right thing.
Why two weeks?
Because I do most of the work before we get in the room.
The sessions aren’t where I disappear with a blank page and ask everyone what they think. They’re for decisions, pressure-testing, edits and finishing.
That keeps the work moving without turning it into a six-month process.
What if it needs longer?
Then it’s a Project.
Some problems are one thing. Some are a sequence of things that only work in the right order.
We figure that out in the Read, before the bigger commitment starts.
Why paid up front?
Because I clear the space and hold the two weeks for the work.
It also keeps the engagement simple. No timesheets. No monthly burn. No wondering whether another round of edits just added five grand.
The price is the price.
What if the scope changes?
Then we talk about it before the work changes.
Sometimes the Read uncovers more than expected. Sometimes the work itself reveals something new.
That’s normal. Quietly letting the scope grow and sending a surprise invoice later isn’t.
Can I start with Advisory?
Usually not.
Advisory works best when there’s already something solid to advise against: a strategy, a system, a body of work, a team trying to run it.
If we haven’t worked together before, the Read is usually the better place to start.
Do you work with our existing team or agency?
Yes.
I’m not interested in replacing good people just to make the engagement bigger.
If you already have designers, developers, marketers, an agency or an internal team, I can give them the strategy and direction they need to do better work.
Who actually does the work?
Mostly me.
When the job needs a specialist, I bring in someone I trust and stay responsible for the outcome.
You’re not buying my thinking and getting handed off to a junior team.
Who owns the work?
You do.
The strategy, copy, systems, files, documentation and finished assets are yours.
No license. No dependency built in. No reason to keep paying me just to keep using something you already paid for.
